Oral Health Matters at the Perley and Rideau Veteran’s Health Centre

On Thursday, January 6th, 2011 the allied health support staff, family, and friends learned about the latest in oral health for the senior population. Dental hygiene students from the CNIH as well as the dental industry presented educational displays. Donna Harteveld, the Field Placement Instructor with CNIH, organized the event that attracted over 150 participants. The feedback from the professional staff which included the resident dental hygienist and the Manager of Nursing Practice commented on how informative and well received the program was for everyone who attended. Assessments received from the participants were very positive and comments like; “If these are future dental hygienists, our future will be fine.” and “We should have more things like this!”
