Smoker’s Helpline Presentation February 18, 2011
Barbara Hollander, Eastern Region Senior Coordinator for the Smoker’s Helpline (SHL) Fax referral program (FRP), introduced the launch of CNIH’s new partnership to the Term2 students.
SHL is operated by the Ontario Division of the Canadian Cancer Society and funded by the Government of Ontario, Ministry of Health Promotion. The “Driven to Quit” posters and tobacco cessation information pamphlets for clients were introduced to the CNIH dental hygiene clinic over the last few weeks. Ms. Hollander informed CNIH students and faculty that this is the 6th year for this very successful and popular campaign in which a tobacco user who quit for the month of March can win a car. Individuals who would like to participate in this contest must register with SHL by February 28, 2011 by the latest.
